what is road's end?
Road’s End is a place where family and friends (including those we haven’t met yet) can enjoy some downtime in a relaxed environment.
Located in northeast Tennessee, we’re close to mountains, lakes, and all that nature has to offer. There are tons of hiking trails nearby and plenty of ways to stretch your legs, but if you’re looking for something less active, we’ve got that too.
Spend your days shopping at the many antique stores, visiting historic towns, or just relaxing on the deck watching the deer, groundhogs, hawks, turkeys, and whatever else wanders by.
Think of Road’s End as a bed-and-breakfast minus the “and breakfast”. We provide a place to sleep and hang out. You furnish your own food and whatever else you need. And there’s no cost for you to stay here.
Why? It’s our way of giving back. We’ve been blessed and want to share that with others, especially those who may not be able to afford a vacation otherwise.
Whether you need a place to stay overnight on your way somewhere else, a long weekend break, or a full week’s vacation, we’d be happy to have you.
accommodations
Your living space will be the downstairs floor of our home, which has a separate entrance through our garage. Prior to arrival, you will receive an email with details on downloading an app which will allow you to come and go through the garage door at your convenience.
There are two bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed, and a full bathroom (walk-in shower). There is also a living room area with chairs, a sofa, and a TV, as well as a space with two twin beds for kids to sleep.
A fully stocked coffee maker and some breakfast pastries will be available for snacks. There’s a small refrigerator and microwave, and you’ll have access to the refrigerator/freezer in the garage. Upstairs, you’re free to use our washer and dryer, as well as our full-size ovens and microwave.
We’ve got tons of craft supplies if that’s your thing, so don’t be afraid to ask about paints, card-making supplies, whatever.
Finally, there are steps from your floor leading up to our deck with its beautiful view of the town and mountains. There’s a full gas grill and fire table there, and plenty of chairs to be lazy in.
Our goal is to make your stay as pleasant as possible without interfering with your day. Whether it’s just you or the whole family is coming, we want you to be comfortable. Our interaction will be limited (hey, you’re on vacation. Not us.) but we work from home so will be available if needed.
